There are no disputable issues in the relations between Minsk and Tbilisi, and progress is being made. This was pointed out the day before at the meeting between the President of Belarus and the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia. Last year, the trade turnover stood at about 73 million dollars, and this year to date it grew by one third. Our country is ready to increase exports further. Alexander Lukashenko also emphasized the great respect and interest of the Belarusians to the Georgian people and their culture. Mikheil Janelidze expressed his special gratitude to Belarus for assistance in fighting forest fires. In late August, a Belarusian crew of the Ministry of Emergency Situations was instructed by the President to help extinguish the fires in the Borzhomsky gorge.
