Belarus and Russia’s Tatarstan should restore their trade to the level of $2 billion, Belarusian Prime Minister Andrei Kobyakov said as he met with Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov. Belarus hopes for further strengthening of industrial cooperation with Tatarstan in mechanical engineering. A project is currently underway to build a network of Tatneft gas filling stations in Belarus, and Yelabuga already has a plant assembling Belarusian MTZ tractors. There are plans to establish a machine-building cluster on this basis and set up a plant to manufacture elevators. There are great prospects for cooperation in science and technology.
