In memory of the victims of the Chernobyl nuclear power plant accident
The memory of the victims of the accident at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant was honored at the People's Friendship Park in Minsk. Delegations of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, parliamentarians, representatives of public organizations, veterans and youth came to the memorial signs "Victims of Charnobyl" and "Hiroshima Peace Stone". The participants honored the memory of victims with a minute of silence and laid flowers. Today, the restoration of the affected regions and their sustainable development is a priority task for the government of Belarus. The state has invested enormous amounts of money and implemented several state programs aimed at restoring the damaged lands. The whole country, as a single mechanism, is systematically and comprehensively working to eliminate these consequences. Much attention is also paid to helping citizens living in the affected areas and the restoration of the national economy.
