Meetings of local council deputies to elect senators to be held in Minsk and regions today

Elections to the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly are scheduled to be held today in Minsk and regions. Senators are elected at meetings of local council deputies in each region and the Minsk City Council. The upper house of the Parliament consists of 64 people, 56 of them elected - 8 people from each region and the capital. Another 8 senators are appointed by the President.
