Valentina Matvienko's visit to Minsk is connected with the XIII Forum of Regions of Belarus and Russia, which is taking place these days. Its main organizers are traditionally the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of Belarus and the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of Russia, which provide parliamentary assistance to the development and strengthening of interregional cooperation between the two countries. Therefore, Natalya Kochanova, Chairperson of the Council of the Republic, was also present at the meeting with the Head of State. Aleksandr Lukashenko expressed gratitude for the fact that the Council of the Republic and the Federation Council are engaged, among other things, in strengthening interregional cooperation.
