The Council of the Republic held a meeting with the Ambassador of Cuba
Friendly relations are developing between the two countries, the tone is set by the leaders of the two countries. A high level of interparliamentary cooperation has been established. The positive dynamics of bilateral contacts is noted. The countries actively cooperate in the social and humanitarian sphere. There are opportunities for the development of scientific and technical cooperation and tourism. In general, more than 30 bilateral agreements have been signed between the countries, which cover almost all areas of cooperation. The meeting participants also discussed the situation around Cuba, which is facing unprecedented external pressure. Belarus has repeatedly made statements on the parliamentary line on ending the embargo against Cuba. Another humanitarian shipment is being prepared: 30 tonnes of powdered milk and almost 4 tonnes of medical products will be delivered to Havana.
