Minsk to host Union State Supreme State Council meeting today

A meeting of the Supreme State Council of the Union State chaired by President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko is due to take place in Minsk today. Russian President Vladimir Putin is expected to arrive in the Belarusian capital to participate in the summit. The agenda will cover over ten issues related to Union State activities, including approving the Union State budget for 2016. The parties will also discuss the results of trade and economic cooperation and foreign policy interaction over the past two years. The participants also plan to adopt a programme of cooperation till 2017.
