Elections 2016: Deadline for submitting applications for registering initiative groups to collect signatures ends

The parliamentary election campaign continues in Belarus, district election commissions receiving almost 400 applications for registering initiative groups to collect signatures, as announced by Central Election Commission Chairwoman Lidia Yermoshina.
The deadline for submitting applications ended yesterday. So far, more than 250 initiative groups have been registered, most of them established by non-party citizens. After the registration, the groups will begin collecting signatures for potential candidates. This stage will last until 1 August.
