Registration of candidates for the Council of the Republic is nearing completion. From 25 August to 13 September, senators will be elected at local council meetings. The results of the elections to the upper house of the Belarusian parliament are to be summed up no later than 30 September. As for the elections of deputies to the lower house, election campaigning is currently underway. According to recent reports, 110 seats are being claimed by 504 people. 21 candidates have recently withdrawn from the parliamentary race.
