Turkmenistan to host the CIS Heads of State Council
Turkmenistan is preparing to host the CIS Heads of State Council. Belarus President will also take part in it. Today Ashgabat also hosted a session of the CIS Foreign Ministers Council. Belarus’ position on a number of topical issues related to ensuring peace, security, and economic development in the country, the European region, and the post-Soviet space was voiced at the meeting. CIS members were informed about the initiatives that have been put forward by Belarus President in this regard. Among the most topical issues is a draft strategy for ensuring information security of the CIS countries. The Foreign Ministers Council resulted in approving a Program of Actions for Enhancing Partnership between the Foreign Ministries. It is aimed at better coordinating activities on the international arena.
