There was no official request from Vilnius to arrange a meeting with the Belarusian side
This was stated by the press secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Belarus Ruslan Varankov. According to him, such a gap between public statements and the lack of concrete official steps makes it difficult to assess the reality of the intentions of the Lithuanian side. Belarus, on the other hand, consistently and responsibly approaches the issue of dialogue and once again confirms its openness to consultations at the appropriate level in order to discuss the entire range of bilateral issues, including border issues. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Belarus expects that Lithuania's public willingness will finally be supported by a concrete official proposal. After that, the Belarusian side is ready to start substantive work immediately.
