The session of the CIS Interparliamentary Assembly ended in St. Petersburg
Speaking at the forum, Natalya Kochanova, Chairperson of the Council of the Republic, noted that we are currently facing alarming trends related to the distortion of historical facts and reassessment of the outcome of the Great Patriotic War. According to Natalya Kochanova, certain forces are trying to equalize the rights of victims and executioners, liberators and aggressors, questioning the decisions of the international military tribunal. Parliamentarians have a special mission — to strengthen ties and relationships, not to erect fences following the example of Western neighbors. "The fact that last year for the first time military units from the Commonwealth countries and China took part in the festive parade in honor of Independence Day of Belarus speaks about the readiness to jointly protect the common territory and airspace", said Natalya Kochanova.
