The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Belarus has protested to Poland in connection with the act of espionage

The Polish Charge d'Affaires was summoned to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to deliver a strong note of protest in connection with the detention of a citizen of this country. Grzegorz Gawel was detained by the Belarus' State Security Committee (KGB) of Belarus while receiving a photocopy of a secret document concerning the Belarusian-Russian Zapad-2025 exercises. The Pole recruited the Belarusian through social media to collect classified military information and passed it on to the special services for a monetary reward. A criminal case on espionage has been opened. The Polish diplomat was told that actions violating the principles of good-neighborliness and damaging the security of Belarus were unacceptable. The incident will be given a legal assessment. Belarus calls on Poland to return to a civilized dialogue.
