The head of state has approved the Strategies of Belarus' Participation in the SCO and BRICS
The drafts of the Strategy of Belarus' Participation in the SCO and the Strategy of Actions for the Implementation of Belarus' Foreign Policy within the framework of participation in the BRICS activities have been submitted by the government for consideration by the head of state. A. Lukashenko approved both documents. Recall that in the summer of 2024 the country became a full member of the SCO and then formalised its status of a BRICS partner state. The approved Strategy of Belarus' participation in the SCO defines the conceptual areas of activity, goals and objectives of Belarus' participation in the SCO and mechanisms for their implementation in the near and medium term. The Strategy, which deals with the BRICS, also defines the priority areas of Belarus's interaction with the member states and partner states of the Association. Both strategies are designed for five years until 2030. They can be extended, updated and revised to take into account certain current trends.
