Belarus and Russia adopted a statement on the occasion of the 84th anniversary of the beginning of the Great Patriotic War
20.06.2025
The statement was presented at the OSCE Permanent Council in Vienna by Permanent Representative of Belarus Andrei Dapkiunas.
Diplomats from Belarus and Russia spoke out against the organization of a war on memorials to liberator soldiers and mass graves launched by a number of participating states. The statement emphasized that it is necessary to stop manipulating historical memory and playing with supporters of Nazi ideology for the sake of selfish interests and political expediency.
The delegations of Belarus and Russia to the OSCE called for the unification of international efforts to preserve historical memory and counter racism, xenophobia and neo-Nazism.
