Switzerland's embassy opens in Minsk

Switzerland's embassy has officially opened in Minsk in the presence of Belarus Minister of Foreign Affairs Vladimir Makei and Head of the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs Ignazio Cassis. Taking into account to the recently intensified bilateral cooperation the Federal Council of Switzerland decided to increase the level of diplomatic presence in Belarus in May 2019. Swiss Ambassador to Belarus Claude Altermatt, the first one in the history of bilateral relations, was appointed in September.
