Sudan as gateway to African countries
Belarus has been actively developing its relations with African countries over the recent years. This was stated by Speaker of the House of Representatives Vladimir Andreichenko at a meeting with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Sudan to Belarus Mohamed Omer Musa Ali. As noted by the speaker of the lower house, for our country Sudan is a gateway to other African states. In 2017, President Lukashenko visited Sudan, and a Belarusian parliamentary delegation also visited the country. A number of bilateral trade contracts were implemented as a result of the agreements reached. During their meeting at the House of Representatives, the parties discussed the development of interparliamentary contacts, cooperation between the legislative bodies of the two countries at international forums, promotion of Belarus-Sudan cooperation in trade, economic and humanitarian spheres.
