House of Representatives and Council of Republic holding joint meeting in Minsk

A joint meeting of the House of Representatives and the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly is currently taking place inMinsk. The first issue on the agenda is the extraction of mineral resources.Belarusis the world's third major potassium salt exporter. The amount of oil produced inBelaruscurrently exceeds 1.6 million tons. According to Deputy Prime Minister Mikhail Rusyi, another 5 million tons of oil can be discovered in the country.Belarus' Government also considers it necessary to increase mineral water exports. A number of organisations will be assigned for the exploration and extraction of amber.
Together with local authorities, Belarusian MPs are actively working on establishing new enterprises.
