CIS Heads of State Council adopts documents on countering new challenges and threats

Kazakhstan is hosting meetings of the CIS Heads of State Council and the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council, attended by Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko.The CIS Heads of State Council has adopted a package of documents on providing security and countering new challenges and threats, as well as a CIS cooperation programme on strengthening border security and a military cooperation concept until 2020.Statements by the Heads of State on the occasion of the 70 anniversary of the establishment of the United Nations and the 30th anniversary of the Chernobyl accident have become the main documents adopted in the political interaction sphere. Major decisions have been made for consolidating humanitarian cooperation, including the implementation of the CIS Cultural Capitals programme.The agenda of a Supreme Eurasian Economic Council meeting includes international activity and interaction with EAEU partners.
