Belarusian President speaks at summit of Shanghai Cooperation Organization

Cooperation with the Eurasian Economic Union should be among the important landmarks of economic policy of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization. This opinion was expressed by President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko at the summit of heads of states - members of the organization. The idea is that Belarus should become the "western gateway" for the member states on the way to Europe. As assured by Alexander Lukashenko, Belarus is open for cooperation in the field of industry, science, education, tourism and cultural cooperation. 11 documents on cooperation in matters of security and the fight against terrorism were signed at the summit. The Tashkent Declaration dedicated to the 15th anniversary of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization was signed as well.
