Belarus` President considers it necessary to significantly enhance Belarus-Iran cooperation level

The level of Belarus-Iran cooperation should be enhanced greatly, as stated by President Alexander Lukashenko at today"s meeting with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Iran to Belarus Mohammad Reza Sabouri, dedicated to the completion of his diplomatic mission.
The volume of bilateral trade over the past 10 months has made up just 38 million dollars. The main reason for that is the strengthening of unilateral financial and economic sanctions against Iran in recent years. This year, Minsk and Tehran have signed a cooperation roadmap for the next two years.
President Alexander Lukashenko considers 2017 a crucial year for relations between the two countries as Belarus-Iran cooperation can and should be developed. The Belarusian President expressed his willingness to meet with his Iranian counterpart personally to discuss the development of bilateral relations.
