President and head of CEC discuss progress of parliamentary elections

The President of Belarus has discussed the course of the parliamentary elections with the head of the Central Election Committee. According to the President, the political campaign must not disturb the peace in the country. The turnout is a means of communication between the authorities and the people, the people"s assessment of the parliamentary elections, the role of deputies in the life of our society and the state. Early voting has started today. It will last for 5 days.
According to Lidia Yermoshina the election campaign is proceeding satisfactorily. Compared with previous elections in the House of Representatives, it is more active and involves an alternative range of participants. More than 35 thousand national observers have been accredited for the current election campaign, and not less than a thousand international observers are expected as well.
