Alexander Lukashenko congratulates Turkmenistan's President on Independence Day

Today marks Turkmenistan"s Independence Day. The former Turkmen Soviet Socialist Republic declared sovereignty in 1991. Prior to the main holiday, the central stadium of the Ashgabat sports complex hosted large-scale festivities dedicated to the 24th anniversary of the country"s independence.
President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko has sent congratulations to Turkmen leader Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.
Turkmenistan is one of Belarus" strategic partners in Central Asia. Last year, the volume of Belarus-Turkmenistan trade amounted to 195 million dollars.
