Parliamentary pre-election campaign continues in Belarus

Today is the last day of registration of potential candidates for the House of Representatives. So far there are over 700 nominees. Tomorrow the Central Election Commission will report who will continue the fight for deputy seats. That is when the campaigning will begin as well. Starting from October 21, the candidates will begin to announce their election programs on radio and television.
Meanwhile, the core team of the OSCE/ODIHR observation mission has begun its work in Belarus. The CIS observation mission hails calm and well-administered preparations for the forthcoming political event. Elections to the Council of the Republic are scheduled for 7 November, while elections to the House of Representatives held on 17 November.
