Belarus' House of Representatives appoints interparliamentary organisations to monitor elections

Belarus" House of Representatives has appointed interparliamentary organisations to monitor the elections on 11 September. Representatives of the CIS Interparliamentary Assembly, the Parliamentary Assembly of the Belarus-Russia Union, the Parliamentary Assemblies of the OSCE, CSTO and the Council of Europe will be invited to observe the elections of deputies.As stressed by Speaker Vladimir Andreichenko at a meeting of the Council of the House of Representatives, the deputies" task is to do everything for the international experts to be able to objectively assess the situation in the country and make sure that the elections are open and democratic.Previously, the Belarusian Foreign Ministry has already sent invitations to the OSCE/ODIHR and the CIS Executive Committee.A total of over 500 international observers are expected to monitor the elections in Belarus.
