On June 15 Minsk to host meeting of Committee of Secretaries of Security Councils from CSTO member states
Today, the military and political situation in the CSTO's area of responsibility is deteriorating. This point of view was expressed by President Alexander Lukashenko at a meeting with the heads of defense ministries of the CSTO member countries. The head of state said that Belarus is in favor of promptly equipping the Collective Rapid Response Forces with the latest models of weapons and military equipment. Our country is currently presiding in the Organization, and is ready to expand its participation in joint operations. Belarus guarantees security in the western direction. In autumn, Belarusian-Russian exercise "Zapad-2017" will be held in Belarus. According to the President, it will be large-scale, extensive, and transparent. Matters of security will be further discussed tomorrow. A meeting of the Committee of Secretaries of Security Councils of the CSTO member countries will be held in Minsk.
