Minsk hosts talks between Foreign Ministers of Belarus and Russia
Special attention was paid to the integration processes within the framework of the Union State, as well as to the formation of new Eurasian security architecture. The ministers strongly condemned the West's actions to escalate the military and political situation in Europe. Sergei Aleinik emphasized that our country is ready to discuss border security with Poland. While the latest statements by the Polish Foreign Minister are completely dissonant with the statements that Warsaw made a few weeks ago, proposing to open additional checkpoints. Under these conditions, the only way is dialog. Sergei Lavrov, in turn, emphasized that the Belarusian-Russian interaction in the field of historical memory, which has recently received a new impetus with a focus on patriotic education, countering the falsification of history, justification and "exhumation" of Nazism, protection of the heroic memory of our ancestors, will only intensify. Foreign Minister of Belarus invited his Russian counterpart to Minsk for the conference on Eurasian security, which will be held in the fall. Following the talks, the heads of diplomatic services signed a joint letter to international organizations on our countries' approaches to Eurasian security.
