Minsk hosts CSTO summit
The CSTO remains an integral element of ensuring security not only of its member countries, but also of the Eurasian region as a whole. Alexander Lukashenko stated this when opening the summit of the military-political bloc in Minsk. The summit is chaired by Belarus President. Belarus is leading the association this year. At the same time, our country has always been an active member of the CSTO. Belarus has always placed the development of the organization, the unity of allies in the bloc, the rapprochement of positions in all areas of the organization’s activities at the forefront. Today in Minsk the participants are summing up the results of the outgoing year and outlining key areas of CSTO work for the future. On the agenda are pressing problems not only of regional but also international security. The Belarusian leader called for an analysis of the main trends in the development of the military-political situation in the CSTO zone of responsibility and the world as a whole.
