MEPs discuss key issues in Belarus-EU relations in Minsk
Belarus can play an active role in relaunching the dialogue between East and West. This was stated by Deputy Chairman of the House of Representatives Boleslav Pirshtuk at a meeting with the delegation of the European Parliament. The Vice-Speaker stressed that Belarus is interested in developing relations with the European Union and is a reliable partner in addressing issues of European importance. Among the latter are military, political, energy and environmental stability, as well as cooperation in combating crime and illegal migration. The European parliamentarians, in turn, pointed out spheres of interaction which exhibit positive progress, like the Bologna process, phytosanitary control, joint monitoring of air quality and prevention of emergencies.
