Legislative initiatives
MPs passed a bill that stipulates re-registration of political parties in the first and second readings. The main goals and objectives mandatory for all parties are defined. An important point is protection of socio-political structures from attempts of external influence. In the case of confirmation of the facts of financing a party from abroad the Supreme Court decides to terminate its activity. The main goal of the draft law is to protect the rights and interests of citizens and to provide security for sovereign and independent development of Belarus. Also, a law on the Belarusian People's Congress was passed. The Congress will be the supreme representative body of the country. The MPs also adopted an updated Electoral Code and a draft law on civil society.
