Last contact group meeting in 2018 to take place in Minsk

A meeting of the contact group on the conflict settlement in Ukraine’s East will take place in Minsk today. The last meeting in the outgoing year will take place in the context of tensions in Donbass and in Ukraine-Russia relations. On the eve of the New Year and Christmas, the parties will try to take measures to normalize the security situation in the region. It is expected that a new armistice agreement will be signed. In addition, the participants of the contact group will consider the issue of prisoner exchange.
