House of Representatives of National Assembly of Belarus holds meeting with parliamentary delegation of Uzbekistan
The parliamentary delegation from Uzbekistan continues its working visit to Belarus. Head of the Senate Tanzila Narbayeva met with Chairman of the Lower House of Parliament Vladimir Andreichenko. The parties expressed mutual interest in boosting cooperation in all areas: education, engineering, pharmaceuticals, food industry. Uzbekistan is a key partner of Belarus in Central Asia. Vladimir Andreichenko stressed that over the 30 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations between Belarus and Uzbekistan, the cooperation has been developing progressively, systematically and favorably for the two countries. Over the past few years, trade turnover between the countries has tripled and amounted to $500 million at the end of last year. According to the head of the Senate of Uzbekistan, the figure is planned to be increased to one billion.
