Head of Belarus MFA spoke at UN Security Council
“Being the Ukraine’s neighbor, Belarus as no other country is interested in the prompt settlement of the conflict”. Belarus’ minister of foreign affairs Sergey Aleinik declared this at the sitting of the United Nations Security Council. He reminded that it was in Belarus that the Minsk agreements were signed which started the peace process in the Ukraine, as well as the complex of measures on their implementation, which were approved of by the UNSC. Today, Belarus notes with a big concern the growth of the military potentials and arms race in the neighboring countries. The MFA head ascertained that rewriting basic principles of international law for individual goals and ignoring legal interests of the majority of the international community members have lead to the highest degree of polarization in the world in general and in our region in particular. Mr.Aleinik underscored that the conclusion of the conflict is inevitable, and it shall be settled at a negotiation table.
