Early parliamentary election voting starts in Belarus

The parliamentary election campaign will be monitored by national and international observers.

Early voting for candidates to the House of Representatives has started inBelarustoday. Polling stations will be open from 10:00 to 14:00 and from 16:00 to 19:00. A total of about 7 million voters are expected to participate in the voting. One deputy seat is being claimed by 4.5 candidates.
The election campaign will be monitored by national and international observers representing the missions of the OSCE/ODIHR, CIS, the Parliamentary Assemblies of the Council of Europe, OSCE and Shanghai Cooperation Organisation. The main parliamentary election day is 11 September.
