Deputies ratified the treaty between Belarus and Russia on security guarantees within the Union State
26.02.2025
The document sets out the mutual obligations of the two countries to strengthen defence capabilities and protect sovereignty. Most importantly, it addresses the tasks of ensuring stability and security in the region, clearly prioritises the peaceful settlement of disputes and is exclusively defensive in nature. In fact, the treaty draws a line under the results of joint and hard work that has been carried out for many years to improve the security of the citizens of the two countries. The Federation Council in Moscow also adopted the relevant draft law. The Russian parliament has thus completed the ratification procedure for this document.
