Cooperation between Minsk and Caracas
Cooperation between Minsk and Caracas was discussed in Minsk. Venezuelan Foreign Minister Yvan Gil Pinto is paying an official visit to Belarus. The rich program began with talks with the head of the Belarusian Foreign Ministry. Sergei Aleinik emphasized that the talks with his Venezuelan counterpart were not a spontaneous meeting, but a logical continuation of the friendly interstate dialog with a concrete contribution to their development. Priority attention was given to the issues of trade and economic cooperation. The most important and ongoing project at this stage is the resumption of joint assembly plants of Belarusian tractor and automobile machinery in Venezuela. Sergei Aleinik also said that Minsk and Caracas are working on the opening of direct flights. Yvan Gil Pinto, in turn, noted the importance of cooperation between Belarus and Venezuela in education, science and technology.
