Bo Jonsson: EU should abandon confrontational strategy
22.09.2025
Swedish politician Bo Jonsson has published an article in which he called on European governments to lift sanctions against Belavia as soon as possible. According to the leader of the United Sweden initiative, the restrictions on the work of the Belarusian air carrier primarily affect ordinary people. Moreover, Europe punishes itself in such a situation. Bo Jonsson notes that Minsk will surely become a continental cultural hub in the near future — this is predetermined by its political geography. If the United States stands for restoring relations with Belarus in full, then it is foolish for the European Union to abandon such a strategy. The benefits of developing contacts and removing restrictions are enormous and, most importantly, mutual.
