Biosecurity and sovereignty of the CSTO member countries

The second meeting of the CSTO Coordinating Council on Biosafety was held in Minsk. Due to the difficult geopolitical situation, the topic occupies one of the central places on the international agenda. In addition to biological weapons, the West utilizes various methods, e.g. coup d'état attempts. There’s extremely dangerous and uncontrolled military biological activity of the United States in various regions of the world, including the post-Soviet one. There were revealed new facts about the military-biological activities of the Pentagon and various US agencies in Ukraine. The meeting also discussed the implementation of Kazakhstan President’s initiative on the establishment of an International Biosafety Agency reporting to the UN Security Council. The new structure is a response to new biothreats and goes hand in hand with the new stricter Convention on Biological Weapons, the joint formation of radiation, chemical and biological protection.
