Belarusian parliamentarians take part in the Future Summit in New York
23.09.2024
Only joint efforts can ensure peace and security in the world. This was emphasised from the rostrum of the United Nations by Deputy Chairman of the Council of the Republic Sergei Khomenko, speaking at the Summit of the Future in New York. The event is taking place against the background of the most acute geopolitical crisis of our time. It is based on the desire of certain Western countries to achieve world hegemony. Further unwinding of the crisis spiral may lead to a global catastrophe. Belarus offers concrete answers to the questions of how to stop negative trends in global politics and pull the world away from the brink of the abyss. World leaders, representatives of civil society and experts have gathered at the UN Headquarters to work on solving urgent problems – from combating sea level rise to eliminating hunger. The forum participants intend to develop a practical plan to ensure a better future for people and the planet. On the margins of the summit, the Belarusian delegation has informal meetings and negotiations with leaders and top officials of different countries.
