Belarusian Foreign Ministry rejects allegations of transporting refugees
The Belarusian Foreign Ministry rejects any allegations concerning transportation of refugees into the country. Moreover, as the Foreign Ministry assured, in recent months the national air carrier Belavia has significantly stepped up security checks in connection with the emerging migration situation. Visa rules for citizens of a number of states have also been tightened, additional migration control measures have been introduced, supervision over tour operators has been strengthened, dozens of them have already been deprived of licenses. A set of other measures has also been implemented. The Foreign Ministry assured that both the national air carrier Belavia and the Belarusian government bodies approach the matter of migration very seriously. After all, as a transit country Belarus bears significant costs. And they added that any accusations of any kind of “instrumentalization” of migrants by Belarus are groundless, untenable, contrary to reality and common sense.
