Belarusian Foreign Minister taking part in UN General Assembly meetings
Strengthening national, regional and global security should be carried out not by enhancing the military potential of NATO but by building confidence. This position was voiced by the Belarusian Foreign Minister while addressing a meeting of the UN Security Council. The theme of the meeting was “Maintaining peace and security in Ukraine”. Vladimir Makei recalled the efforts of Belarus to ensure peace in the region and reaffirmed the readiness of our country to provide conditions for negotiations at any level and at any time in order to put an end to the conflict as soon as possible. The day before, Vladimir Makei also spoke at a meeting with his colleagues from the Group of Friends in defense of the UN Charter. The Belarusian Foreign Minister also held a meeting with his Venezuelan counterpart.
