Belarusian Foreign Minister held a number of meetings on the sidelines of the BRICS summit
The work of the Belarusian delegation on the sidelines of the BRICS summit continues. Foreign Minister Sergei Aleinik and his Chinese counterpart Wang Yi had a detailed conversation about the schedule of contacts and the implementation of key agreements reached during the visit of the President of Belarus to China in March this year. The head of the Belarusian Foreign Ministry also discussed topical issues on the bilateral agenda with Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez. In addition, Sergei Aleinik met with his Iranian counterpart Hossein Amir Abdollahian. Iran, along with the UAE and Saudi Arabia, has become one of the three Middle Eastern countries that will join the BRICS on January 1, 2024. The association will also include two African states – Egypt and Ethiopia. Belarus also expects to receive confirmation for an early admission to the BRICS.
