Belarus taking part in CIS IPA session in St. Petersburg
A wide range of issues from countering international terrorism to cooperation in science, education and youth policy are of the agenda of a session of the CIS Interparliamentary Assembly that opens in Saint Petersburg today. A conference on rural development in the countries of the Commonwealth will start the forum. The experience of Belarus is relevant in this respect. Over the recent 10 years, more than one and a half thousand agro-towns have been built in our country. Another topic is conservation of natural resources and environmental issues, in particular, safe transportation of petroleum products through pipelines and the elimination of environmental damage in areas affected by radioactive contamination. International security issues will also be the focus of the session.
