Belarus proposed to hold a parliamentary summit on security in the BRICS+ format
08.04.2025
Belarus noted the fundamental need to strengthen the parliamentary dimension of this international association. In his speech at the 150th IPU Assembly, the head of the Belarusian delegation, Sergei Rachkov, drew attention to the growing economic influence of the BRICS. It may lead to a change in the traditional balance of power in international politics. The BRICS countries representing developing economies are able to challenge the dominance of Western countries in international relations, which may lead to a more diverse and balanced representation of interests in the global arena.
