Belarus' position on human rights voiced at UN session in Geneva
The US and EU countries use human rights as a pretext to interfere in the internal affairs of sovereign and independent states. This opinion was expressed by Deputy Foreign Minister of Belarus, Yuri Ambrazevich, at a session of the UN Human Rights Council in Geneva. According to Minsk representative, the current interpretation of the very concept of human rights, applied by the leading countries of the planet, plays a destructive role instead of a constructive one. In particular, it hinders in every way the implementation of sustainable development goals declared by the international community. Yuri Ambrazevich noted that the approach to human rights protection must be changed if it is assumed that the protection of these rights should do more good than harm to humanity.
