Belarus is interested in joining the Treaty of Amity and Cooperation in Southeast Asia

During his official visit to Indonesia, Belarusian Minister of Foreign Affairs Maxim Ryzhenkov held a meeting with Secretary General of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations Kao Kim Horn. The parties discussed plans for the development of cooperation. Maxim Ryzhenkov also noted that strengthening ties between the EAEU and ASEAN is one of the priorities for Belarus during its presidency of the Eurasian Economic Union in 2025. The Belarusian side confirmed its interest in joining the Treaty of Amity and Cooperation in Southeast Asia, as well as in continuing a constructive dialogue with ASEAN member states and partners.
