Belarus - India: mutual interest
India confirms its interest in expanding bilateral trade and economic cooperation with Belarus. During his visit to New Delhi, Foreign Minister Vladimir Makei held a number of bilateral meetings with heads of key departments and representatives of large Indian businesses. Issues of ensuring international food security, including taking into account the role of Belarus as one of the leading producers of potash fertilizers, were discussed at a meeting with the Minister of the Chemical Industry of India. Substantive approaches to cooperation in the field of petrochemistry were also considered. The Indian Ministry of Commerce spoke about the implementation of joint projects in engineering, pharmaceuticals, and infrastructure development. Vladimir Makei held talks with the head of the Indian Foreign Ministry. They discussed in detail the current situation in Ukraine, noting the need for its speedy settlement by peaceful means.
