Belarus expects to be confirmed for BRICS membership as soon as possible

This was stated by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus, who is heading a delegation to the BRICS summit in South Africa. On the margins of the summit, Sergei Aleinik held a number of meetings with the President of the State of Eritrea, Foreign Minister of Equatorial Guinea, Minister of Economic Coordination of Angola, Minister of State for International Cooperation of the United Arab Emirates and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Saudi Arabia. Among the main topics are bilateral relations and intensification of contacts at various levels. The expansion of the organization will be officially announced at the summit today. The new members are expected to be Saudi Arabia, Argentina, the Arab Emirates, Iran and Egypt.
