Belarus can help ensure global food security
20.05.2022
Bringing Belarusian fertilizers back to the international market will help ensure global food security. This was stated by the Permanent Representative of Belarus to the UN as he spoke at the Security Council. Valentin Rybakov recalled that, according to the World Bank, the agricultural price index increased by 43% by May 2022 compared to last year. And each additional percentage point of rising food prices will push an additional 10 million people into extreme poverty. According to the diplomat, it is time for the initiators of unilateral restrictions to seriously rethink their policy, correct it in a comprehensive and flexible manner by abandoning political prejudices.
