Belarus and Japan intend to develop cooperation
Belarus and Japan intend to develop interparliamentary and interregional cooperation. This was stated by Chairman of the Standing Committee of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus for Foreign Affairs and National Securityfollowing a meeting with Japanese Ambassador to Belarus Kazuhiro Kuno. The parties also discussed the prospects for the development of trade and economic cooperation between the two countries, assistance in the implementation of joint economic projects, the establishment of interaction between chambers of commerce and industry, and the deepening of scientific and technical cooperation. Special attention was paid to the social and humanitarian sphere. Belarus is grateful to Japan for its support in minimizing the consequences of the Chernobyl disaster. During a difficult time for our country, the Eastern state provided assistance in the amount of about $40 mln.
